Why Have a Web Site?
It's getting so that having a web site is like having a telephone or having a listing in the yellow pages.
Recent surveys find that more than half of all new customers check out a businesses web site before visiting the business. Many of them would rather ask a question using e-mail than make a phone call. The percentage is growing every day. Right now, about three-fourths of all households have web access. Soon, this number will be close to one-hundred percent.
New customers (and forgetful old customers) also go to the business web site to get phone numbers, directions, and maps. Fewer and fewer customers use the phone book any more. If a business doesn't have a web site with a phone number, they simply go someplace else.
A web site can also provide valuable information to your customers. It can tell them which holidays you won't be open. It can advertise specials and sales. It can provide coupons they can print for discounts.
Most important, a web site can help convince new customers that yours is a place they'd like to do business with.
